Creating myGRILL Chef SMART was the right thing to do [PART 1]
The concept of myGRILL Chef SMART was created by the need to create a product so unique and so different than any other available grill in the market. Our major concern was to offer to the market a product that was seriously considering the health of our customers, since as you will also read further on, the existing grills did not expand into this parameter as seriously as we did. Under the materialization of the concept, we were challenged to utilize cutting edge technology in our product, so as to end up with a final product that can be easily characterized as a ‘smart’ product.
So as you will soon realize, for us it’s important to be up to date. It’s however equally important for us to listen to the real needs of the market. And when we refer to the market, we really mean grasping the needs of our customers.
The Internet of Things (IoT) has become our everyday reality: our cars are becoming smarter, our houses are becoming smarter, and the world has never seen so much connectivity as the one we live in today. We seriously could not neglect this parameter; we saw the opportunity the IoT could offer to our new project and immediately we were challenged and dedicated to deliver an outstanding tech aware product.
A little background info to what was already available
As you probably know, there are many types of grills available in the market offering different fuels, sizes, shapes, and built materials. Nevertheless, in all existing options it’s up to the user to decide how to cook the food. And there are specific issues arising from this:
Automation
Most users-grillers do not know the correct cooking techniques in order to properly cook the food. Each type of food being cooked on the grill requires a different style of cooking, with specific cooking temperatures. The common case scenario and problem in this is that the ordinary user is unaware of the correct cooking techniques. In many other cases there is the problematic belief that if you over-cook food bacterial infection will be avoided. However, did you know that over-cooked food has as many as 20 compounds known as heterocyclic amines, known as cancer causing?
We really needed to drastically act on these problems, with a solid based solution.
Temperature control
Cooking temperatures can be adjusted on electric and gas grills but it’s difficult to achieve in charcoal grills. Each type of charcoal/wood produces a different amount of heat based on the type (ex. lump charcoal, briquettes, etc) and certainly the distance of the food from the heat source varies based on the grill manufacturer. So, controlling the temperature cannot be accurate enough. This simply requires increased vigilance to avoid overcooked food. Cooking meat, poultry, or fish at high temperatures for long periods of time can be dangerous to your health.
We were determined to create a grill able to adjust to the correct temperatures.
Flare-ups / Insulation
Did you know that when the fat of the meat is heated and drips in the basin of the grill creates flare-ups? The main reason why flare-ups will occur from the bottom of the basin up to the meat is that the basin is too hot! What you probably don’t know is that these flare-ups create carcinogenic substances.
Therefore, we put our minds, knowledge, skills and expertise together in order to give a practical solution to flare-ups.
myGRILL Chef SMART is born
We challenged ourselves to find the best, most forward-looking way possible to engineer a new kind of charcoal grill. One that has the ease of a gas grill and the aroma of the charcoal. When we put it all together, the result was something entirely new. Something radically different from anything before it. And there the myGRILL Chef SMART was born.
Creating myGRILL Chef SMART was the right thing to do [PART 2]
The way myGRILL Chef SMART functions makes it substantially different from other grills. This is why we believe it’s so important to explain to you how our grill is different.
